Project Information

The idea for the project came from service users on the ward who wanted to brighten up their dining area. Following a consultation phase, people then took part in a series of four photography workshops which explored a range of image-making techniques and included landscape photography, kaleidoscope-making, pinhole photography and light-painting.

The sessions were led by photographer Eleanor Babb with support from Occupational Therapy Assistant Leanne Davies. Together they worked with participants to create a range of very varied looking imagery, much of which was deliberately abstract because it was felt that this would have a broader appeal. Some of the images were printed onto canvases which are now on display in the dining room. A further selection were framed and mounted and are on display in the main corridor of the ward.
