Project Information

Creative Health CIC and Wolverhampton Arts and Heritage Service (WAVE) have  secured funding for the project ‘Conversation Clubs’.  The project team is led by Arts and Social Care Co-ordinator Jane James who is working with a team of volunteers to establish Conversation Clubs in community venues across Wolverhampton.

Using a model developed and piloted at WAVE venues, participants engage in single-topic discussions stimulated by the service’s handling collection (supplemented by specially acquired reminiscence objects). The conversations are positive, wide-ranging, stimulating and inclusive

The catchment area for each group is tightly-based so participants are neighbours; a sense of community is enhanced through shared reminiscence and an exploration of differences and commonalities.

Groups will also have the opportunity to create visual interpretations of their conversations using collage techniques and to apply the images to a range of products.
